I’m back … and ready and rearing for whatever new challenges this year may hold.
My 2013 actually kicked off in memorable style when I received an e-mail notifying me that the truly terrific JE Lattimer (http://fictionalmachines.com) has nominated me for the Liebster Award Round Three. Receiving this kind of award nomination from such an esteemed writer is an accolade that has made my New Year even more rewarding – so thank you, I’m hugely appreciative!I started my first ever blog, “Teatart”, only five months ago on 13 August 2012 and my Teatart Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/Teatart) shortly thereafter in October. Sharing my intimate thoughts and moments through my Teatart blog has been therapeutic, and thus far, it’s been an incredible journey of self-discovery. The real highlight has been connecting and networking with so many talented writers and true creatives.
Teatart has given me a productive platform to channel my energies, and now I’m ready to take the next steps. Since poetry has been my number one writing love, I am planning to launch a separate WP site which will be dedicated to poetry and prose. Fingers crossed, my new site should be up and running in the next weeks.
Now back to the topic of the Liebster Award and to answer the eleven questions posed:
Have you ever had a spinal tap?
Who, would you say or consider, to be your role model?
My Mom is my role model. She has weathered the storms of life with grace and dignity.
Have you ever travelled? If so, where to (in the country or out)? What were your expectations and did you meet them?
Besides Zimbabwe and South Africa, I’ve travelled to Mauritius, Mozambique, Florida in the US and I’ve travelled around Germany a bit. Yes, expectations were exceeded.
Mel Brooks or Jeff Dunham?
Jeff Dunham for sure!
Who/what is the most influencing musician/person in your life? Why?
My Dad would have to be my first choice and the second person is a gentleman by the name of Bob Welsh. He was my mentor when I first started working. Both believed in me more than I did in myself and without their support I would not be the person I am today.
If you could meet anyone, at any given moment, who would it be? What would you do?
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson! I would leap into his arms and happily pose for at least ten photos – one which would be an A3 framed photo to be proudly displayed on my wall.
Ever been to a convention/festival?
A few actually.
What do you hope to accomplish after your college career or set goal?
I have at least several goals this year – get fit, eat healthy, lose weight, write more …
Have you ever met anyone who is a well-known “public figure”?
I’ve met a few local rock band members if that counts.
What’s the one food you’d wish to eat all the time and never get bored with (this means sweets as well)?
Pizza, pizza, pizza, pizza and pizza.
Who is your favourite author/writer/poet? What quote from their works has inspired you? Do you read for recreational reasons?
Yes, I read for recreational purposes and I have several authors that I love. James Patterson and Mary Higgins Clark would be at the top of that list.
My eleven nominees (in no particular order) are as follows:
My questions to these nominees are:
- What inspires you to blog?
- Who is your role model?
- What one thing would you change about yourself if you could?
- Have you travelled and if so, where to?
- What goals do you want to achieve this year?
- What is your favourite pair of shoes?
- What three famous people (alive or passed on) would you want to have dinner with?
- What genre of movies do you enjoy the most?
- Fiction or non-fiction books?
- Until what age do you wish to live?
- What pets do you have or would like to have?
